How the System Works

• It does not mean that the charging involves bright light all along. Though the charging could be nicer with bright light, even in the faded light during rainy or winter seasons, the battery can get charged well.
Lighting the Yard at Night
One of the major conveniences in using the Outdoor Solar Lights or garden lights is that they can generate illumination automatically by turning on during the night or when darkness creeps in. Usually the solar yard lights will use the standard solar cells. The application is quite straightforward. While the battery remains charged storing power just in the same way the cell phone batteries work, the photo-resistor works to generate automatic lights once the environment gets darker.
Solar Cell Components
Components of solar cells in the solar outdoor light or indoor solar decorations are as follows –
• Glass covers protecting the cells.
• Front contact grid.
• An anti reflective coating that absorbs sunlight without reflecting it away.
• Solar cells sandwich that contains N type free electron and P type silicon those together forms the electric field.
• N type negative silicon and P type positive silicon in the device works to generate the power from stored energies.
Back contact in the device helps the cells to obtain power from the battery.
