Custom water features made from stainless steel, glass, resin, and copper are the recent fad in home and office decoration. These newly designed water fountains are available in any style that fits any indoor or outdoor space. Adding a water fountain in your home or office can transform it into a place that is well suited for entertaining friends and relaxing anytime.

Water fountains are getting the thumbs up from homeowners, designers, and manufacturers when it comes to their design value. These fine crafted water features are changing the way we look at home and office designs.

Here is a look at the recent designs in water fountains:

Water Wall

A vertical wall, usually consisting of a sheet of slate, granite, steel, aluminum, or cast resin. Water is pumped into a narrow and hidden channel along the top edge, spilling uniformly across the width of the wall's face. An extremely smooth flowing water wall would be the Sheen style (Not to be confused with a "Wall-mounted" fountain, which could be of various designs hung on the wall of a room.)

Astronomy

The fountain takes the elements from the solar system, sun, moon, and stars.

Animal Element

Cascade

Water is cascading down from a tiered or terraced waterfall. Two or more reservoirs, pools, or levels.

Children's

This style incorporates the image of a child - perhaps a freestanding statue or the engraving/intaglio of a child's face, for example - or some topic associated with children.

Classic / Antiqued

The classic or antiqued finish pertains to any type of fountain that is transformed to look old.

Contemporary

Any fountain designed using contemporary style.

Bubbler

This water feature takes a different style where the water is enclosed in a clear structure. Air is pumped into the bottom of the reservoir, resulting to thousands of bubbles being flown upwards through the water. Sometimes, the water is illuminated by a clear or colored light.

Moving Element

Any element in the fountain that moves in conjunction with the movement of water. For example, a water wheel.

Ocean

The fountain uses elements from the ocean as inspiration for the design, seashells, dolphins, fishing nets, and so forth.

Oriental

The fountain's style is Asian inspired that includes bamboo, bonsai, sand, and shallow pools.

Plant/Flower Element

This style of fountains contains plants as the inspiration for the masterpiece.

Religious

The fountain's design makes use of religious items that is incorporated in the overall design. Examples of this stuff are angels, a cross, or religious inscriptions usually in latin.

Sheen

The water runs smoothly down the face of a vertical or slanted surface of the fountain; very little rippling of the water until it reaches the reservoir or receiving pool. The fountain tends to make minimal sound. (A Sheen fountain is an extremely smooth-flowing instance of the Water Wall style.)

Suspended

The main surface down which the water flows is suspended or hanging from a frame or support. Often the water falls from a copper tube to the top edge of the surface.

Tall Fountains

This type of fountain commonly stands several feet tall. Example of this kind of fountain is the floor-based type of fountain.

People Element

This style uses the human form as the main masterpiece. Some examples of this style are human face or hand engraved unto the fountain.
